Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford was selected as the first pick
overall in today's NFL Draft. His six-year deal with the Detroit Lions
is reported to be worth at least $41.7 million.
Stafford was a starter at the University of Georgia for three seasons (2006-08), and he passed up his senior-year eligibility to enter the draft.
