Beautifully designed trading cards spotlighting the 1980 National Champion Georgia Bulldogs are available this season. The set will total 42 cards, with 7 cards available at each home game (hmmm, let's see...6 games X 7 cards = 42 cards total...and I didn't even need a Tech grad to help!).
This week (Game 1: UGA vs Boise State), the following cards are available:
- Vince Dooley – head coach
- Tommy Thurson – linebacker
- Jim Blakewood – offensive guard
- Robert Miles – defensive end
- Guy McIntyre – offensive tackle
- Nate Taylor – linebacker
- Joe Creamons – defensive guard
The cards are part of a Kodak promotion and are available three ways:
- With the purchase of an official UGA football program ($6; the cards are shrink-wrapped with the program)
- With a minimum $10 purchase of any Kodak product at the UGA Bookstore (next to the Tate Center) or the FTX Bookstore on Baxter Street
- With the purchase of two collectors' edition 25th anniversary photos at the UGA Bookstore
Last year, Kodak did a similar promotion with Uga pins (one pin was available each week). At the end of the season, a complete 6-pin set was sold. So, there's a chance that a full 42-card set will be sold in November, but I'm only speculating.
