Charity Fundraiser July 19
The third annual Countdown to Kickoff charity event will be held July 19 at the University of Georgia’s Woodruff Practice Fields off Lumpkin Street from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature more than 50 former Georgia football standouts including current NFL players. The event benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Georgia Transplant Foundation, as well as the Children’s Tumor Foundation and the University of Georgia College of Education.

Uga VI, the winningest mascot in the University of Georgia’s history, died on Friday evening from congestive heart failure in his hometown of Savannah, Ga., owner Frank W. “Sonny” Seiler announced. “He was a good one,” Seiler said. “What can I say? He had a marvelous record. He was a very strong and healthy dog. He was the biggest of all the dogs, and he had the biggest heart. It just played out.” Read more >
