Charity Fundraiser July 19

The third annual Countdown to Kickoff
charity event will be held July 19 at the University
of Georgia’s Woodruff Practice Fields off Lumpkin Street from 3 p.m. to
6 p.m. The event will feature more than 50 former Georgia football standouts
including current NFL players. The event benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and
the Georgia Transplant Foundation, as well as the Children’s Tumor
Foundation and the University of Georgia College of Education.

Dawg Gone: Uga VI Passes Away

Uga VI, the winningest mascot in the University of Georgia’s history,
died on Friday evening from congestive heart failure in his hometown of
Savannah, Ga., owner Frank W. “Sonny” Seiler announced. “He was
a good one,” Seiler said. “What can I say? He had a marvelous record.
He was a very strong and healthy dog. He was the biggest of all the
dogs, and he had the biggest heart. It just played out.” Read more >

Anniversaries for UGA's Heisman Winners

This year marks the 65th and 25th anniversaries for the University of Georgia's two
Heisman Trophy winners. UGA's Frank Sinkwich was honored as college
football's best player in 1942, and Herschel Walker earned the coveted
trophy in 1982. Let's take a look at these two outstanding Bulldogs.
